Why Solid Wood, Not a Printed Board

Most Thin Blue Line flags you'll find are printed on canvas or thin composite board. Ours are real wood — two pieces of quarter-inch premium cabinet-grade poplar-core Baltic birch, painted, engraved and adhered for a total thickness of one half inch, then finished with a matte clearcoat with added UV protection. The badge itself is laser-cut as part of the top layer, not applied as a decal or sticker. Because it's genuine wood, no two are ever perfectly identical: natural grain and small character marks are part of the material, not flaws. It's built for indoor display, and it's built to still be on the wall in twenty years.
